We would like the emphasize that this page was created to give our group a place to gather information on the proposed rezoning of a neighbouring property to accommodate a cement plant.  In no way is this page meant to harm this business.  We support the business but we do not support the site they have chosen for their newest development.

Community Forum

In 1992, this parcel of land should never have been permitted to be rezoned from Residential to Light Industrial.  It was a long and tense process, but the previous owners persistence with the CRD granted them the change in zoning.  However,  a covenant was legally put on the property, restricting industrial activities to a great extent.  This confined activities to indoors, so the owner built a 12500 square foot shop to work on his equipment.  It was an impact to the residential area at the time but the covenant offered the neighbourhood some solice from the noise, dust and traffic of industry.   The removal of a restrictive covenant on the land will allow for further industrial development.  This has the potential to greatly affect our way of life here.
